Shocking low ratings for Bigg Boss 6

Bigg Boss Telugu is one of the most popular shows on Telugu television. Right from its first season in 2017, Bigg Boss has been generating huge TRPs in the television arena. Especially, the premiere episodes will break TRP records every year. But that was not the case this time.

Bigg Boss season 6 premiered on September 4 and the launch episode generated a shockingly low rating of 8.6. Every season, the ratings of premiere episodes will be more than 15. That means the ratings have dropped less than 50% this time.

There are multiple reasons behind these low ratings. First of all, Bigg Boss has become too much for the audience these days. It is getting aired for almost 200 days a year, including the television and OTT versions. The waiting period has been reduced and there is no wow factor as well. As a result, the anticipation among the audience has decreased.

Additionally, Bigg Boss makers are roping in relatively unknown contestants every year for the last couple of seasons. As there are no notable faces, people are not showing interest in watching the program, opined a few sources.

On top of that, there was an India Vs Pakistan T20 match on September 4. Even that might be one of the factors which dented the TRP ratings of Bigg Boss.
