SS Rajamouli was shocked by this fact about Ponniyin Selvan

Ponniyin Selvan is the next big pan-India release in our country. Directed by Mani Ratnam, this period action drama features various stalwarts like Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Karthi in the lead roles.

The cast and crew are currently busy with the promotions of the film. Speaking at one of the promotional events, Jayam Ravi said that SS Rajamouli was shocked by one of the interesting facts about Ponniyin Selvan.

"Recently I met Rajamouli sir and told him that we shot both parts of Ponniyin Selvan in just 150 days. He was shocked by it and asked me whether I am playing a prank. I had to seriously confirm that we indeed finished the film's shoot in 150 days," stated Jayam Ravi.

Ponniyin Selvan is adapted from the novel of the same name, which was written by Kalki. It revolves around the family politics of the Chola Kingdom. It is getting released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. AR Rahman is composing the music for it. Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies have jointly bankrolled the project.
