HYDERABAD: Superstar Rajinikanth's latest film, "Jailer," has not only been a massive success at the box office but has also become a topic of discussion due to the reported "double remuneration" he received for his role in the movie.
The film recovered its production costs within four days of its release, catapulting it into profitability.
It is reported that "Jailer" grossed over Rs. 650 crore and earned a share of over Rs. 300 crore during its three-week theatrical run.
As a result of the film's tremendous financial success, the producer, Kalanidhi Maran, decided to reward Rajinikanth with additional remuneration.
Initially, it is rumored that Rajinikanth received a remuneration of Rs. 110 crore for his role in "Jailer." He received another Rs 100 Crore, and the producer handed over the check to the actor the other day, taking it to Rs 210 crore.
Notably, 'The Real Record Maker' is written on the cover of the check given to Rajinikanth.
In a heartwarming gesture, the producer also gifted Rajinikanth a brand new BMW X7 car apart from the additional remuneration, further solidifying the actor's iconic status in the Indian film industry.
Directed by Nelson Dileep Kumar, "Jailer" is a dark comedy and action-packed drama that has taken the Indian box office by storm, marking Rajinikanth's biggest blockbuster in recent years.
