Suriya casts his vote for the Academy Awards

HYDERABAD: Last year, actor Suriya was invited to become a member of The Academy which presents the Oscars every year. Along with Suriya, the other Indians who got the invitation last year were Kajol, Pan Nalin, Reema Kagti, Sushmit Ghosh and Rintu Thomas.
The 95th Oscars event will be held on March 12. The final voting process was concluded a couple of days ago. Suriya has successfully cast his vote online. He announced the news on his social media handles. He wrote, "Voting done!" by sharing a screenshot of the Oscars voting website. With this, he has become the first Tamil actor to cast his vote in the Academy. Meanwhile, he didn't reveal who he had voted for.
This time, three Indian films are in contention for the Oscars. RRR's Naatu Naatu has been nominated in the Best Original Song category, The Elephant Whisperers has been nominated in the Best Documentary Short category and All That Breathes is contesting in the Best Documentary Feature category.
On the career front, Suriya is currently working for Suriya 42, which is directed by Siva. It will hit the screens later this year. Disha Patani is the female lead in this movie. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music for it.
