HYDERABAD: Controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is fighting a legal battle regarding his upcoming film, 'Vyooham.' The movie, reportedly based on the political situation in Andhra Pradesh, is under scrutiny for potential procedural irregularities in the censor certification process. In the latest development, Justice Surepalli Nanda of the Telangana High Court has reserved the verdict in the petitions related to the release of Ram Gopal Varma's film 'Vyooham.'
The High Court suspended the clearance certificate issued by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) following a plea filed by TDP leader Nara Lokesh. He alleged procedural irregularities and raised concerns about the potential defamation of former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu portrayed in the film.

The court has announced that the orders will be pronounced on January 22, when the movie is prohibited from being released. The film's producer filed an appeal challenging the suspension orders, and after three days of hearings, Justice Surepalli Nanda reserved the verdict.
On the other hand, senior counsel A. Venkatesh, representing the producer, contended that opponents have been attempting to halt the film's release since October.
The nine-member committee of CBFC watched the film based on earlier orders from the High Court and issued the censor certificate. However, opponents have approached the High Court to quash the censor certificate, leading to ongoing legal proceedings.
