Thalapathy67: Star cast on board for Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial

HYDERABAD: The makers of the Vijay starrer "Thalapathy 67" have a new surprise in store, with the legendary actor Sanjay Dutt making his Tamil debut in the film. Reports suggest that Dutt will play the role of the villain. This marks Dutt's second major film in the South, following his portrayal of the antagonist in the successful Kannada film "KGF Chapter 2."

Seven Screen Studios made the announcement on Twitter, saying, "We are honored to welcome Sanjay Dutt to Tamil Cinema and excited to announce he is part of #Thalapathy67." A poster was released showing Dutt in a menacing pose, along with a statement from the actor expressing his thrill at joining the film. He said, "As soon as I heard the one-liner for Thalapathy 67, I knew I had to be a part of it and I am thrilled to start this journey."

"Thalapathy 67" will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, marking his second collaboration with Vijay after "Master." Lokesh shared a picture with Vijay on Twitter, announcing the project and expressing his excitement to work with the actor again.

The film is also a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) which has a large following. Other notable cast members include Trisha Krishnan, Gautham Menon, and Mysskin. The film is expected to release in theaters by the end of 2023 and will feature music by hit composer Anirudh Ravichander.
