Thalapathy's 'Varisu' registers record numbers of theatrical business

'Thalapathy' Vijay has created a strong market for himself in the Telugu states. Almost every film had a parallel release and has given good numbers at the box office. With this purview, Vijay shall be making his Telugu debut with his upcoming film 'Varisu', titled 'Varasudu'

Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, the film marks his debut in the Tamil industry. It is reported that the film shall hit the screen for Sankranthi 2023, and the business has already been initiated.

According to our sources, the film's overseas rights were sold for Rs. 35 CR & Tamil Nadu rights are expected to be around Rs. 72 CR. While the combined business of Kerala & Karnataka might be Rd. 15 CR, the usual estimation in Telugu states would be Rs. 10 CR with overall theatrical business ranging from Rs. 140 CR worldwide.

Along with Ajith's 'Thunivu', 'Varisu' shall be in competition with native biggies, 'Waltair Veerayya', 'Veera Simha Reddy' & 'Adipurush'.

'Varisu' is currently in its filming stage. Produced by 'Dil' Raju, this high-budget multilingual stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, while Thaman was roped in for the music.
