HYDERABAD: The Sankranthi season has turned into a heated box office battle between Guntur Kaaram and Hanuman. Initially, the clash raised eyebrows as it's unusual for two big films to release on the same day, especially when a major star film is involved. Guntur Kaaram, being a big-budget film, secured more theaters, leaving Hanuman with a smaller share.
However, Hanuman's team strategically opted for paid premieres a day before the official release, gaining positive word of mouth and attention from audiences. This move worked in favor of Hanuman, with the film receiving strong reviews during the premieres.

On the other hand, Guntur Kaaram faced mixed reviews and a divisive talk, creating a shift in audience interest.
As a result, Hanuman witnessed packed houses in the evening shows, and the positive reviews are drawing more attention. The film's advance bookings for the second day (January 13) are strong, and screen counts are increasing despite the release of Venkatesh's Saindhav on the same day.
The Sankranthi box office has turned into an interesting and competitive battle, with Hanuman gaining momentum and challenging the initial expectations set by Guntur Kaaram.
Tomorrow, Nagarjuna's Na Saami Ranga will also join the box-office race. We have to see which film fares well at the box office.
