Tollywood Box-Office: Dusshera releases fails to make money!
They are Megastar Chiranjeevi's Godfather, King Nagarjuna's The Ghost, and Bellamkonda Ganesh's Swathi Muthyam
Nagarjuna - Chiranjeevi
HYDERABAD: Tollywood has been going through a rough patch for the last couple of months. Barring Sita Ramam, Karthikeya 2, and Bimbisara, other Telugu films proved to be failures at the box office. During the Dusshera festive occasion, three films geared up for release.
They are Megastar Chiranjeevi's Godfather, King Nagarjuna's The Ghost, and Bellamkonda Ganesh's Swathi Muthyam.
The trade industry pinned a lot of hope on these films. On the occasion of Dasara, they hit the screens on the 5th of October. The early reports revealed that all three films are getting a good response from the audience. Especially, Megastar Chiranjeevi made a strong comeback with Godfather. The film is a treat for mega fans and will be a box-office winner for sure.
Nag's The Ghost also opened to a decent response from the viewers. On the flip side, Swathi Muthyam proved to be a clean family entertainer complemented by perfect casting.
However, the three films were disappointed in terms of revenue. God Father is decent, but the numbers are nowhere near to what a Top Tier-1 Starrer should have done! On the other hand, Nagarjuna's The Ghost started poor and never recovered the investment. The small-budgeted flick Swathi Muthyam also failed to pick up.
For now, there seems to be no sign of recovery at the box office in the case of these three films.
