HYDERABAD: Tollywood is currently witnessing another significant drug-related incident, as the Telangana police have apprehended Telugu film producer KP Chowdary and is presently undergoing interrogation. During the investigation, it came to light that Chowdary had engaged in multiple WhatsApp chats and phone conversations with various Tollywood personalities and the offspring of politicians.
Furthermore, it has been established that he had connections with international drug peddlers from Nigeria. The ongoing investigation is focused on determining whether Chowdary played a role as a drug supplier to celebrities within the Tollywood industry.
Notably, he had extensive communication, consisting of numerous texts and calls, with a young Telugu actress who gained fame through Instagram. Some other names of prominent personalities in Hyderabad have also popped up but the police officials are yet to give a clarity on the same.
The police are currently deciphering the content of the phone calls and text messages exchanged between Chowdary and numerous individuals from the film industry.
KP Chowdary had previously financed Rajinikanth's film Kabali.
