Tollywood lines up a big list of films for summer 2023

HYDERABAD: Last summer, we had multiple big summer releases in the form of RRR, KGF Chapter: 2, Acharya and Sarkaru Vaari Paata. But that is not the case this time. There are no big star films releasing this summer. But there are a few interesting projects that are gearing up to hit the screens. Here is a look at them.

Dasara - March 30:

Nani's Dasara is set to hit the theatres on March 30. Touted to be a raw and rustic rural action drama, this film is directed by Srikanth Odela. Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead in it. Dasara is probably the biggest Telugu release this summer. It will have a pan-India release in five languages.

Ravanasura, Meter, Ahimsa - April 7

Ravi Teja's Ravanasura is gearing up for release on April 7. As he is playing an anti-hero in it, there are good expectations around it. Kiran Abbavaram's Meter and Abhiram Daggubati's maiden film Ahimsa are also releasing on the same day.

Shaakuntalam, Bichagadu 2 - April 14

A week later, Samantha's pan-India flick Shaakuntalam will come into theatres. It will be released on April 14th, along with the Tamil dubbed film Bichagadu 2. Bichagadu was a huge hit in Telugu. We have to see how this sequel performs at the box office.

Virupaksha - April 21

On April 21st, Sai Dharam Tej arrives with the supernatural thriller Virupaksha. The teaser got a good response and there are decent expectations on this movie.

Agent - April 28

Akhil Akkineni's Agent will be hitting the theatres on April 28. This Surender Reddy directorial action thriller will have a pan-India release.

Rama Banam, Ugram - May 5

Gopichand and Allari Naresh are going to start the month of May with their respective films Rama Banam and Ugram. Both films will hit the screens on May 5.

Custody, Hanuman - May 12

Naga Chaitanya's Custody and Teja Sajja's pan-India flick Hanuman are gearing up for release on May 12.

Anni Manchi Shakunamule, Miss Shetty Polishetty - May 18

Santosh Shobhan's Anni Manchi Shakunamule and Naveen Polishetty-Anushka Shetty's Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty are planning to hit the screens on May 18.

These are the films that are testing their luck during this summer season. We have to see how many of them will manage to strike a chord with the audience.
