Tollywood Rewind: Big Hits of 2022 at Box Office

HYDERABAD: We are just two days away from the New Year. 2022 has been a mixed bag for the Telugu film industry. While some films managed to do extremely well at the box office, some others failed to impress the audience miserably. Let us have a look at the biggest hits of Tollywood in 2022.

Bheemla Nayak:

This Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati-starrer action drama proved to be the first hit of 2022. It brought back vintage Pawan Kalyan on screen and fans couldn't have asked for more.

RRR:

Master filmmaker scored yet another blockbuster this year with RRR. Starring Ram Charan and NTR Jr in the lead roles, this movie collected more than Rs. 1100 crores at the box office.

Sita Ramam:

Another Telugu film which proved to be successful in various other languages as well. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, this romantic drama featured Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles.

DJ Tillu:

This movie was made on a minimal budget and featured relatively small actors. But it emerged as one of the biggest profitable ventures in 2022.

Karthikeya 2:

This Nikhil Siddhartha and Anupama Parameswaran-starrer movie is one of the sleeper hits in India this year. It collected a gross of more than Rs. 100 crores at the box office.

Apart from these straight films, we have witnessed some big dubbed hits in Telugu this year in the form of KGF Chapter: 2, Vikram, Kantara and Love Today. On the whole, 2022 happened to be a good year for the Telugu film industry after the pandemic. Trade circles are hoping for 2023 to continue the same momentum.
