Twitterati trends #BoycottPathan; Here's why!

HYDERABAD: Shah Rukh Khan, who is fondly referred to as the "Bollywood Ka Badshah" is finally hitting screens after a long gap of 4years. His last film was "Zero" along with Ansuhka Sharma which failed at the box office continuing his streak of failures. Hoping to start 2023 with a bang, SRK is coming up with his latest film "Pathaan" which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

The film is being produced by Yash Raj Productions and directed by Siddharth Anand. Though the fans are delighted to watch this action thriller on big screens, a faction of people are quite displeased. Hashtags like "#BoycottPathaan", "#BoycottSRK", "#BoycottbollywoodCompletely" have been trending ever since the release of the movie's teaser, which gained much more momentum when the film's first single "Besharam Rang" was released yesterday. The boycott slogan comes as a continuation of the "Boycott Bollywood".

Many twitter users expressed their displeasure with the title itself. "Why praise Pathaan in India?" asked a user. Another user asked his followers to boycott Pathan and give it the same fate like Aamir's Lal Singh Chadda. If this trend continues, it will be very difficult for Bollywood to score any hits and might also lead to huge financial losses.
