Venu Thottempudi was offered a role in Athadu

Athadu is considered a classic in not only Superstar Mahesh Babu's career but also in the history of Telugu Cinema. It is probably one of the most-viewed Telugu films on television. Athadu was directed by Trivikram. It featured Trisha as the female lead. Sonu Sood played a negative role in it.

Meanwhile, Sonu Sood was not Trivikram's first choice for this role. Apparently, he wanted to cast hero Venu Thottempudi for that character. Venu himself revealed the news in a recent interview. However, he had to reject the offer due to call-sheet issues.

"Trivikram is a good friend of mine. He offered me a role in Athadu. But I had to turn it down due to my date issues. We still maintain a good relationship with each other. In future, he may approach me once again if he feels that I can fit into any character in his upcoming films," said Venu.

After a gap of nine years, Venu is making his comeback into films with the latest release Ramarao on Duty. Starring Ravi Teja in the lead role, this movie has hit the screens today.
