HYDERABAD: The highly versatile actor Chiyaan Vikram has joined forces with director Pa Ranjith for the eagerly awaited pan-Indian period drama "Thangalaan."
The recently released teaser for "Thangalaan" is currently trending on the internet. Vikram's portrayal in the teaser exudes a captivating blend of rawness, rustic charm, and a certain air of brutality.
The film is set against the backdrop of the historic Kolar Gold Fields, immersing viewers in the rugged lifestyle of its inhabitants and their unwavering fight for survival and, ultimately, freedom. The teaser opens with the line, "As myth leads to history, as greed leads to destruction, as blood wars lead to liberty, rises the son of gold."
The teaser's impact is greatly enhanced by the exceptional musical score by GV Prakash Kumar, and the breathtaking visuals captured by cinematographer Kishor Kumar.
In this film, Malavika Mohanan takes on the lead role. The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast that includes Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, and more. The movie is slated to hit theaters on January 26, 2024.
