What if Baahubali producer bankrolled 'Salaar'?

HYDERABAD: Recently, Shobu Yarlagadda, the producer of the blockbuster Baahubali series, shared his insights on the promotional approach for the highly anticipated movie Salaar, starring Prabhas in the lead role. The film was released recently and opened to decent reviews. However, the trade believes the film could have done even better.
In this context, Shobu Yarlagadda emphasized the importance of introducing the world of Salaar well before its release. He suggested a more extensive Hindi promotion could have significantly boosted the film's box office performance.
In an era where pre-release buzz plays a pivotal role in a film's success, Shobu highlighted the need for a robust marketing campaign to create anticipation and awareness. Baahubali, one of the most successful Indian film franchises, set a benchmark for its grand scale and well-executed promotional strategy. Shobu Yarlagadda believes a similar approach for Salaar could have been a game-changer, highlighting the fact that a pre-release event did not take place for Salaar.
Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire is set against the backdrop of the fictional town of Khansaar. Shobu Yarlagadda suggests that introducing this world to the audience well in advance would have generated curiosity and excitement. Although the team hinted at it in the trailer and during other interviews, a proper description would have prepared the audiences well in advance.
While Prabhas enjoys immense popularity across India, especially after the success of Baahubali, Shobu believes that a more focused promotional effort in the Hindi market could have yielded greater box office numbers for Salaar. Surprisingly, compared to all previous films, Salaar is the only film in Prabhas' career that was promoted less in North India.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar is bankrolled by Hombale Films, the team behind the highly successful 'KGF' film franchise.
