Yatra 2 First Look - Jiiva to essay the role of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy

The first look of "Yatra 2," the sequel to the 2018 hit "Yatra," has been unveiled. While the original "Yatra" revolved around the life of the late YS Rajashekar Reddy, the sequel will shift its focus to the current Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy. Tamil actor Jiiva will be essaying the role of Jagan Mohan Reddy in the film.

The first look of "Yatra 2" prominently features Mammootty, who portrayed YSR in the first installment, alongside Jiiva. The poster also reads the caption, "Nenevaro Ee Prapanchaniki Inka Teliyaka Povachu, Kaanee Okkati Gurthu Pettukondi. Nenu YS Rajasekhar Reddy Koduku Ni."

Set against the backdrop of the years 2009-2019, "Yatra 2" is expected to delve into pivotal moments that shaped Jagan Mohan Reddy's political journey. The sequel is helmed by director Mahi V Raghav.

The eagerly awaited "Yatra 2" is scheduled to hit theaters on February 8, 2024. Interestingly, this release date aligns with the fifth anniversary of the original "Yatra."

Produced by Shiva Meka under the banner of V Celluloid and Three Autumn Leaves, "Yatra 2" features music composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The cinematography is handled by R Madhie, with editing by Shravan Katikaneni and production design by Selva Kumar.
