You can never catch audiences' pulse all the time: Nagarjuna
"No one in the film industry can catch the pulse of audiences to 100 per cent all the time. If they would have done it, then we will not have a single no.1 hero in the industry.
"No one in the film industry can catch the pulse of audiences to 100 per cent all the time. If they would have done it, then we will not have a single no.1 hero in the industry. Instead, all heroes will be the number one actors," said Nagarjuna. The actor says that audiences' tastes are like waves and they change from time to time.
The teaser of Nagarjuna's upcoming film The Ghost was unveiled the other day. Speaking at the teaser launch event, he said that he still didn't figure out what audiences will like and what they don't.
"I have done Shiva with Ram Gopal Varma. The very same great director made Officer with me. Shiva was a blockbuster whereas Officer was a disaster. I made Ninne Pelladutha with Krishna Vamsi and it was a blockbuster. Later, I have done Chandralekha with him and it was a flop," he said.
"We don't know what audiences like at a particular time. When I was doing Annamayya, I was skeptical about its result and was not sure whether audiences will accept me in that role or not. But Raghavendra Rao garu trusted in me. It became one of the classics in my career. If I knew what audiences want from me, I would have done Shivas and Annamayyas throughout my career," Nagarjuna further added.
