HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metro Rail will be a whopping Rs. 69,100-crore project, all phases combined.
NVS Reddy, Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL) said: “As tweeted by Minister for MA&UD department, the Telangana Cabinet has approved development of 8 Metro extension corridors and four ORR metro corridors totalling to 278 km at a cost of about Rs 60,000 cr.
“Along with the above, Cabinet has also approved BHEL-Lakdikapul line with connectivity to Miyapur (26km) & Nagole-LB Nagar (5km) with a revised cost estimate of Rs 9,100 cr as a JV partnership Project of GoTS & GoI.
“The Chief Minister has instructed MA&UD department & Metro Rail authorities to get PPRs(Preliminary Project Reports)/ DPRs prepared for all these Corridors. The total cost is accordingly about Rs 69,100 cr (Rs 60,000 + Rs 9,100 cr).
With 69 km (3 Corridors) of operational metro; 31 km of Airport Metro; 31 km of BHEL-LAKDIKAPUL with Miyapur connection & Nagole-LB Nagar connectivity; 5.5 km of old city metro & 278 km of the new 8 extension & 4 ORR Metro Corridors, the envisaged metro coverage in Hyderabad Metropolitan area will be about 415 km.
