HYDERABAD: A moviegoer who sat in the seat ‘reserved’ for Lord Hanuman in Bhramarabha theatre in Hyderabad was roughed by fans during an early morning show of Adipurush on Friday.

With Lord Rama being a huge sentimental issue in the country. the theatres have allocated one particular seat for Lord Hanuman to be left alone, unoccupied. Actually, whether the theatres did so on their own volition or under duress of some fanatics is not known.

It is believed that Lord Hanuman sits in patience wherever there is chanting of the word Rama.

However, the person who was said to be in a drunken condition refused to vacate the ‘reserved’ seat much to the discomfiture of the other audience. Finally, the theatre staff intervened and convinced the person to shift to another seat. They placated the frayed tempers of those who were enraged.

At the RTC crossroads, hero Prabhas fans have erected huge cutouts expressing their love for the Bahubali hero. A 65-foot cutout of ‘Adipurush’ became a main attraction. There were many other huge cutouts near Sudarshan and Devi theatres too, adding to the colour and gaiety surrounding the Adipurush release.

Meanwhile, the only Hindu country in the world Nepal has lifted the ban on the release of the movie after the makers of Adipurush agreed to make changes in the movie as directed by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah.

Shah objected to a portion of the dialogue 'Janaki is a daughter of India' whereas she was born in Nepal. The dialogue was removed from all the versions released all over the world and in India, to prevent any other controversy.

Jyothi Theatre at RC Puram (BHEL) ransacked

With the movie receiving good initial buzz, impatient fans have been resorting to violence in theatres on slightest provocation. Fanned by Rama mantra chanting, in some movie theatres they broke glasses in a frenzy if the movie started even a minute late.

In Jyothi theatre of Ramachandrapuram in Sangareddy district, fans resorted to violence on Friday morning and broke glasses of the theatre. They first fought with the theatre management for not screening the movie on time. The fans were pacified by the management and the movie finally started.

However, they grew impatient with the sound system failing intermittently. They complained to the management that the dialogues were not audible. This escalated into a brawl that ended with damage to the theatre’s property. The desperate theatre management has finally cancelled the show.
