Another AI Edtech firm, Turing Minds, in Gachibowli fires 800 techies

HYDERABAD: Following the closure of the software firm 'Insofe' in Hyderabad, another firm, turingminds.ai, allegedly violated all rules and fired more than 800 employees.

The firm allegedly issued offer letters, collected security deposits, took loans between Rs 5-10 lakhs with employees as co-applicants, and has now terminated the employees.

Kiran Chandra, President of the Telangana Forum of IT Professionals(ForIT) said, "Desperate situations lead unemployed youth to pay money as secure deposits at times subjecting their families to usury. Such effects will be devastating for the livelihoods of the families. Labour department should ensure justice".

He adds, "The police entered the premises of the fraudulent company on April 18, 2023. They were asking the employees to keep quiet. It should be the other way around the labour department to enter, take the employer into custody. A similar kind of a situation was reported a decade back. An assembly level task force was constituted in 2012 to tackle similar companies. The government needs to have a task force to handle such fraudulent companies".
