Asaduddin Owaisi challenges Rahul Gandhi to contest from Hyderabad, announces full support to BRS
He said that the AIMIM party would lend full support to the BRS party in Telangana
HYDERABAD: Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), on Monday challenged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Hyderabad rather than Wayanad.
Asaduddin Owaisi said at a public meeting in Hyderabad that the Babri Masjid in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya was demolished under the regime of the Congress party. All communal strife in Hyderabad was caused by Congress, he added.
"I challenge your leader (Rahul Gandhi) to contest from Hyderabad instead of Wayanad. You keep making big statements; get down on the ground and fight against me. People in Congress will say many things, but I am prepared. Babri Masjid and the Secretariat's mosque were demolished under the Congress regime, " said Asaduddin Owaisi.
He said that the AIMIM party would lend full support to the BRS party in Telangana, and that Muslims should vote for BRS and help the party win the upcoming elections. All Muslim votes should go to BRS, especially in areas where MIM does not contest, he added.
