HYDERABAD: "Our vision is to establish Genome Valley as the 'Global Valley of Growth' for innovation and R&D, and Eurofins' inauguration in Hyderabad on Thursday marks another milestone in our journey," said Information Technology Minister KT Rama Rao.

Eurofins, the global leader in life testing, on Thursday inaugurated its opened advanced BioPharma Services Campus in Genome Valley, Hyderabad.

The centre was inaugurated by the Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, and Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Government of Telangana, K.T. Rama Rao.

Eurofins' Hyderabad BioPharma Services Campus, located on 15 acres of land, offers 100,000 sq. ft of laboratory and office space. The Campus in Genome Valley would provide services in Discovery Chemistry & Discovery Biology, Safety Toxicology, Bioanalytical Services and Formulation Development to global pharmaceutical companies.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Minister K. T. Rama Rao said, “I’m delighted to inaugurate yet another marquee addition to the vibrant R&D ecosystem of Genome Valley. As part of their ambitious growth plans, Eurofins will be investing around Rs. 1,000 crores and will create employment for around 2000 people over the years. It is our vision to establish Genome Valley as the 'global valley of growth' for innovation and R&D and Eurofins’ inauguration today marks another milestone in our journey”.

“This new state of the art, BioPharma Services Campus reaffirms Eurofins commitment to invest in India. We identified Hyderabad, and in particular Genome Valley, as an attractive place to invest because of the ecosystem existing in the city, and the ease of doing business. We have been particularly impressed by the collaboration we have had with the Government of Telengana to make this investment, and believe Hyderabad will be a strategic location for Eurofins in our global BioPharma services network, " said Neeraj Garg, Regional Director, Eurofins.

Rajiv Malik, Managing Director of Eurofins Advinus, explained that “the Hyderabad campus shall be expanded to become the showcase site for Eurofins in India, encompassing services across the complete Pharma R&D value chain from Discovery to Development to GMP testing, both for small molecules and large molecules”.

Hyderabad is regarded as the epicenter for drug discovery and development services in Asia, while Genome Valley is India’s first organized cluster for Life Sciences R&D and Clean Manufacturing activities, with world-class infrastructure facilities in the form of Industrial / Knowledge Parks, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), multi-tenanted dry and wet laboratories and incubation facilities.

Genome Valley, a hub for over 200 companies and a scientific workforce of 25,000 professionals, is home to global and Indian pharmaceutical industry leaders. Eurofins Advinus's investment in Hyderabad has further solidified the city's status as a top hub for drug discovery.
