Call GHMC helplines if construction waste is dumped on road, canals, etc for immediate action

HYDERABAD: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Ronald Rose has asked officials to initiate legal action on residents if they are found dumping construction and demolition (C&D) waste in unauthorised places.
Ronald Rose, accompanied by officials, visited a few residential colonies in Mehdipatnam circle on Monday and supervised the sanitation and development works. The GHMC Commissioner told the officials to initiate legal action with fines as per the GHMC Act against residents if they dumped construction and demolition waste on roads, footpaths, canals, ponds and unauthorised places.
Ronald Rose said that C&D recycling plants had been set up in Fathullaguda, Malkajgiri, Shamshabad and Tumukunta in and around Hyderabad. Each plant was allotted a few administrative circles and residents could contact them in case to shift the C&D waste from their place, he said.
Residents of Mehdipatnam, Karwan, Goshamahal, Jubilee Hills, Khairatabad Circle under Khairatabad zone, Chandrayanagutta, Falak Nama, Charminar under Charminar zone, Rajendra Nagar circle, Kukatpally, Alwal, Secunderabad zone, Malkajgiri, Musheerabad, Secunderabad, Begumpet circle could contact the construction waste collection points at Thumkunta and Shamshabad on whatsapp number 73300 00203 or call toll free number 1800-203-0033 to segregate the wastes at their doorstep, he said.
Similarly, residents of Moosapet, Kukatpally, Gajularamaram, Quthbullapur, Serilingampally zone Yousufguda, Chandanagar Serilingampally, RC Puram Circles in Kukatpally zone, Amberpet in Secunderabad Zone, Uppal in LB Nagar Zone, Hayat Nagar, LB Nagar, Saroornagar, Malakpet in Charminar zone and Santosh Nagar circle could contact the construction waste collection points at Fathullaguda and Jeedimetla on WhatsApp number 9100 927 073 or toll free number 1800-120-1159 to segregate the wastes at their doorstep. Residents should pay the charges fixed by the GHMC for each tonne of waste, the GHMC Commissioner said.
Ronald Rose asked the residents to extend their cooperation in keeping Hyderabad clean. In this regard, he advised the field level officials and corporators to explain to the people about their role in maintaining cleanliness in their place. Apart from that, he also asked the officials to seize the vehicles illegally transporting construction waste.
