Collection of evidence, databases, crime analyses important to ensure convictions: C V Anand
There was also an open discussion about resolving grievances about cybercrime and narcotics, boosting capacity at police stations and conducting quality investigations
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand on Monday conducted an in-depth high-level crime review and discussed multiple administrative issues with all officers in the rank of ACP and above at the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate (TSPICCC).
A review was undertaken on all crimes pending due to lack of arrests, detection of property offences, which was at an all-time high of 85 percent, investigation of some sensational cases, FSL reports, charge sheets, and ACPs were specifically asked to focus on them.
The Commissioner emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts among CLUES teams and investigative teams because it allowed for a more comprehensive approach in tracing, analysing patterns and modus operandi, building evidence, and databases - all of which helped in detection, conviction, and prevention.
There was also an open discussion about resolving grievances about cybercrime and narcotics, boosting capacity at police stations and conducting quality investigations.
The relocation of Hyderabad City Police, including the site of new police stations and ACP/DCP offices, as well as the redistribution of officers and vehicles, was discussed.
The recently operationalized D-CAMO (Stones and Cameras Maintenance Organisation) and the CCTV network extension were further addressed.
The "Fit Cop" initiative, which was aimed at monitoring and improving the health of police officers, had grown by leaps and bounds, now covering 16,008 of the total Hyderabad city police force.
Training attempts to optimise human resources in CAR were widely discussed.
The officials discussed administrative concerns, HCSC operations, and E-office.
The meeting was updated on the situation of Cantonment roads, a specific drive against illegal sirens, the acquisition of contemporary gadgets and summer measures for field level employees.
