Tollywood choreographer Rakesh Master, who became popular with his controversial statements, passed away on Sunday evening following brief illness
HYDERABAD: Tollywood choreographer Rakesh Master, who became popular on social media platforms and Youtube streaming channel in the last few years with his controversial statements, passed away on Sunday evening following brief illness. He was 53 years old.
A week ago, he returned from an outstation shoot in Visakhapatnam after suffering a sunstroke. He has been undergoing treatment since then. But his health deteriorated all of a sudden on Sunday after he reportedly suffered from excessive bleeding. He was rushed to Gandhi Hospital where, despite best efforts by the doctors in the Acute Medicare Centre (AMC) to save his life, he breathed his last at around 5 pm.
Rakesh Master began his career as a dancer with the 'Ata' Dance Show. He went on to choreograph for over 1,500 films. He was known for his energetic and innovative dance compositions.
In the last few years, Rakesh Master was mainly active on social media while professional work seemed to have eluded him. He often spoke about his love for dance and game shows. Known for speaking his heart out, he was often seen on camera courting controversies with his no-holds-barred statements and brash behaviour. He has a huge following on YouTube, where he often shared his thoughts, both good and bad, about the film industry.
Rakesh Master's death has shocked the fraternity of choreographers in Tollywood and beyond. Celebrities and fans have been expressing their condolences.
