HYDERABAD: Following a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases across the country, the Telangana State Government made it clear that wearing masks in public is mandatory, and those who do not wear masks will be fined.

According to the most recent COVID health bulletin, four COVID-19 positive cases were recorded in Telangana on December 19, 2023, with nine persons undergoing treatment in isolation.

Telangana Health department has urged the public to take precautionary measures amid COVID-19 surge, and advised vulnerable age groups like children under 10, pregnant mothers, and elderly individuals to avoid going outdoors unless mandatory.

The health bulletin indicates a higher COVID incidence of COVID-19 cases among 20-50-year-olds, prompting individuals to exercise caution during work and essential activities.

According to the health bulletin, There is a higher incidence of COVID disease in the age group of 20 to 50years, hence people are requested to exercise due precaution while going for work/essential activities.

The health department emphasized the importance of maintaining physical distance of over 6ft between individuals, especially when outside their homes.

Workspaces should be equipped with soap and hand washing facilities, and physical distancing between employees should be maintained.

Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and ensure COVID-appropriate behavior, such as wearing face masks, hand-washing, and maintaining physical distance, if necessary.

Citizens are advised to seek prompt health services if they experience flu symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, body pains, or headache without any delay.

Individuals with co-morbid conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes, and cancer, are advised to stay indoors and avoid travel except for medical care to prevent COVID exposure.
