Cyberabad police apprehend 385 drunk driving offenders in large-scale drive
Among those caught were 292 two-wheeler riders, 11 three-wheeler drivers, 80 four-wheeler drivers, and 2 heavy vehicle drivers
HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad police conducted a large-scale drunk driving test on Saturday and apprehended 385 offenders at various locations within the Cyberabad Commissionerate's jurisdiction.
Among those caught were 292 two-wheeler riders, 11 three-wheeler drivers, 80 four-wheeler drivers, and 2 heavy vehicle drivers. Additionally, 182 offenders were caught in the IT corridor.
Four individuals were found to have the highest Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 550 mg/100 ml. All those apprehended will be presented before the court.
The Cyberabad police issued a stern warning, stating that anyone found driving under the influence of alcohol and causing accidents resulting in fatalities will be arrested and imprisoned under section 304 part II of the IPC (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail.
