Cyberabad police enforce restrictions on heavy vehicles during prohibited hours
DCP Traffic DV Srinivasa Rao introduced additional regulations during a press conference at the Gachibowli traffic police station
HYDERABAD: Traffic DCP DV Srinivasa Reddy on Thursday announced the restriction of heavy vehicles from entering Cyberabad city roads during specified hours, namely 7:30 am to 11:30 am and 4:00 pm to 10:30 pm.
Recognizing the escalating traffic issues in Cyberabad Commissionerate, DCP Traffic DV Srinivasa Rao introduced additional regulations during a press conference at the Gachibowli traffic police station.
- Heavy and medium vehicles, including DCMs, water tankers, RMC, JCB, tractors, etc., are restricted on roads from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
- Construction and Demolition (C&D) vehicles face restrictions from 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM.
- Heavy, goods, and slow-moving vehicles are prohibited on all Cyberabad flyovers.
- Heavy vehicles violating these rules will be fined initially, and for repeated offenses, vehicles will be seized and handed over to the RTA.
- Establishments like multiplexes, shopping malls, hotels, bars, and restaurants allowing customer parking on roads will face legal action, obstructing traffic flow.
- Cyberabad Commissionerate has 55 Pelican signals; pedestrians are urged to use footpaths, pedestrian signals, crossings, or footbridges to prevent accidents.
- Auto, cab, and other transport drivers in Cyberabad are required to wear uniforms.
- Awareness programs target school/college students, auto drivers, transport vehicle drivers, and RTC drivers to promote strict adherence to traffic rules.
- Driving on the wrong route causing an accident is punishable under Section 304 (II) IPC.
- Traders encroaching on footpaths will face legal consequences.
