HYDERABAD: The - on Friday resolved the mysterious case of a 22-year-old woman, Tehseen Begum, whose charred body was discovered in Moinabad four days ago. The investigation revealed that she died by suicide near Dream Valley Resort on January 8, 2024, due to prolonged depression stemming from strained relationships.
The police responded to a call at 2:24 pm on January 8, 2024, reporting a deceased female body in Bakaram village limits. The patrol team found a burnt mobile phone near the charred body, prompting the involvement of the crime scene investigation team and a dog squad.
Following the discovery, the body was transported to Osmania General Hospital. The local Law and Order Police, assisted by CCS Rajendranagar zone and officers from adjoining police stations, conducted extensive searches and data analysis. This encompassed analyzing CCTV footage in surrounding areas and verifying missing cases across Telangana.
After persistent efforts, the Cyberabad police identified the deceased as Tehseen Begum, aged around 22, revealing a history of depression and attempted suicide due to strained relationships. A breakthrough occurred when CCTV footage identified an auto-rickshaw with the registration number TS 13 UC 1565 behaving suspiciously in Yenkepally village on the date of the incident.
Further investigation revealed that she engaged an auto-rickshaw and interacted last with her friend Rahil. Details emerged about Tehseen's strained relationship with a close friend, leading to depression and suicidal tendencies.
The investigation clarified that on January 8, 2024, between 01:53 PM and 02:06 PM, Tehseen procured petrol, went to a specific location in an auto, poured petrol on herself, and self-immolated. The post-mortem was conducted at OU General Hospital, and the body was handed over to the family for final rites.
