Diwali 2023: Hyderabad police allows bursting of crackers only from 8-10 pm from November 12-15

HYDERABAD: The bursting of sound-emitting crackers or fireworks on roads and public places during Diwali celebrations has been strictly prohibited by Hyderabad city police in accordance with the Supreme Court's orders.

The police imposed a complete ban on sound emitting fireworks on roads and public places during Diwali except from 8-10 pm in Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

"The ban will be in force from 6 pm on November 12 until 6 am on November 15, 2023. The noise level from crackers, drums, and other instruments should not exceed the Pollution Control Board's permissible limits," according to the order.

"Anyone who violates the above orders will face prosecution under the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348, and other relevant laws in force," the police said.
