HYDERABAD: The normal life in Hyderabad and its surrounding urban conglomerate was affected by the incessant rain that lashed during the wee hours of Tuesday. Knee-deep water flowing on the main arteries of the city disrupted traffic leading to traffic snarls.

Low-laying colonies were flooded submerging cellars and parking areas. Vehicles parked on roads overnight were washed away. With the catchment areas of Musi River receiving heavy downpour floods gates were lifted in the reservoirs that cater to the drinking water needs of the city.
