Electricity employees stage maha dharna at Vidyut Soudha demanding wage revision

HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Power Department Employees Joint Action Committee on the ‘Chalo Vidyut Soudha’ call given by the JAC staged a Maha Dharna at Vidyut Soudha in Khairatabad demanding solving of their problems regarding the continuation of GPF and the old pension scheme for employees recruited from 1999 to 2004 in the power department.
As many as 15,000 electricity employees from 24 unions formed the Telangana State Power Employees Joint Action Committee and undertook this maha dharna under the auspices of JAC Chairman Sai Babu, Convener Ratnakar Rao, Telangana State Power Employees Union State President MA Wazir, Co-Chairman Sridhar, Co-Convenor BC Reddy, Sadananda.
The leaders who spoke on the occasion said that they took up the protest after the discussions with the government over the implementation of Pay revision from April 2022. He said that the talks with Power Minister Jagdish Reddy also failed.
Stating that the employees working in Telangana power companies were getting meager salaries, tha JAC leaders requested the government to merge their personal pay in the basic, besides providing fitment and medical services on par with regular employees.
