HYDERABAD: An employee of the Air India Sats, a ground-handling company, at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad has allegedly stolen a gold box belonging to a passenger that is being transported from Hyderabad to Delhi.

According to police, a passenger named Satyanarayana sent a gold box weighing 300 grams from Hyderabad to Delhi through logistics and went to Delhi.

However, as the box didn't reach Delhi, Satyanarayana complained to the airport police saying that his gold box had gone missing while he was on his way to Delhi from Hyderabad.

Upon investigation by the airport police, it is found through the CCTV camera that an airline employee identified as Santhosh stole the gold box. The police arrested the employee and are investigating the case.

An official spokesperson of RGIA said: "We had a suspicion that there had been some tampering of a domestic cargo package and alerted the freight forwarder. Our CCTV and surveillance cameras detected it and we acted swiftly to apprehend the culprit in a timely manner. We are working with our respective stakeholders for the next course of action."
