Fans make beeline to buy NTR commemorative coin at Govt Mint, IG Mint Cherlapally
As many as 20,000 coins were kept available at the places where the coins were being sold

HYDERABAD: Fans of NTR made serpentine queues outside Saifabad Mint and IG Mint Cherlapally for NTR 100 rupee commemorative coins after the first batch of N.T Rama Rao commemorative coin was released in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
As many as 20,000 coins were kept available at the places where the coins were being sold. However, due to the unexpected demand for the NTR coins, the production of more coins was commenced.
Sales of the NTR coins through various platforms began at 10 a.m. on August 29, 2023. The NTR coin, priced at Rs 4,160, is available at any bank or Reserve Bank across India and can also be purchased online at the official website of the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India.
President Droupadi Murmu unveiled the coins as part of NTR's centenary celebrations on Monday. The 44MM coin featuring NTR's image is marked with a commemorative timestamp of 1923-2023 to signify NTR’s centenary celebrations.
These coins are not a legal tender for exchange.
