HYDERABAD: A fire broke out in seven bogies of the Secunderabad-bound Falaknuma Express near Pagidipally, Telangana on Friday.

According to reports, the incident was triggered by a short circuit, which caused heavy smoke to billow from three affected bogies. The people onboard the train were safely evacuated from the impacted coaches, as a result of the quick response of alert staff.

The incident occurred between Pagidipalli and Bommaipalli in the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Telangana. There were no casualties reported from the incident.

Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar took to Twitter and said, "All passengers were safely evacuated and shifted in buses after a fire broke out in the Falaknuma Express near Bhongir rural PS limits. The police, Fire department, and Railways are working in coordination. So far, no fatalities have been reported. Out of 18 coaches, 11 were detached and taken away safely. Seven bogies caught fire, out of which fire is extinguished in three bogies as of now."
