HYDERABAD: Bathini Harinath Goud (84), one of the Bathini brothers who distribute fish medicine, breathed his last on Wednesday night from prolonged age-related illness at his residence in Kavadiguda.

Harinath Goud was survived by his wife Sumitra Devi, two sons, Anil and Amarnath, and two daughters, Alakananda and Archana. According to his family members, Harinath Goud's last rituals would be conducted at Bansilalpet cremation ground in Hyderabad at 10 am on Friday.

Harinath had been suffering from severe diabetes for the last three decades, and leg was amputated two years ago. Since then, he had been performing his duties with an artificial leg. Harinath Goud's son, Amarnath Goud, said that his father had been confined to bed for the past few months and was on a liquid diet.

Over the decades, the Bathini family administered fish medicine to a huge number of people at Nampally Exhibition Ground in June, especially to asthma patients from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and various parts of the country.

Meanwhile, several political leaders and people from all walks of society mourned the death of Harinath Goud.
