Four coaches of Godavari Express from Vizag derail, passengers safe

HYDERABAD: Four coaches of the Visakhapatnam- Hyderabad Godavari Express train derailed at NFC Nagar near Ghatkesar railway station in Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Wednesday morning. However, all passengers are safe and unhurt, barring a few who suffered minor injuries.

Godavari Express train traveling from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad reached the Bibinagar area. As the speed of the train suddenly reduced, the vigilant loco pilot noticed it and halted the train, averting a major accident.

The passengers, who were unaware of what was going on panicked, and got down from the train. However, they heaved a sigh of relief as there were no major casualties.

Meanwhile, the Secunderabad Division railway officials of the South Central Railway responded to the incident and claimed that there were no casualties. They said they took the passengers to their destinations.

On the other hand, the incident disrupted the trains traveling between Kazipet and Secunderabad route.
