GMR Hyderabad air cargo opens courier terminal for import shipments

HYDERABAD: GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo (GHAC) announced the opening of an import courier terminal on Wednesday in order to facilitate faster processing and import clearance of courier import cargo.

The GHAC terminal premises house a 24-hour import handling facility spanning 300 square meters. The facility offers advanced security screening, cargo handling systems, and dedicated officials for a seamless custom clearance process and faster turnaround time for courier import consignments.

GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo, which currently handles more than 120 MT of export courier per month, is set to increase its monthly export courier volume to 150 MT, following the addition of a new facility. This will facilitate the transportation of essential commodities like documents, readymade garments, samples, household goods, and engineering goods that can be imported in large volumes across the region.

GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo provides flights to Middle East and South East Asian cities in under four hours, with exclusive Code - F Freighter Bays adjacent to the Terminal for expedient transfer of goods between Terminal and Aircraft.

Additionally, the presence of International Express & Courier Terminal (IECT) ensures a seamless processing of courier shipments. These features make GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo the preferred choice for many industries including automobile, pharma, FMCG, agri- based exporters.

The terminal also has a unique integrated ‘Cargo Village’, on-site regulators, warehousing and cargo trade offices backed by a very strong Road Feeder Service across South-Central India. It is also one of the preferred gateways for pharmaceutical logistics across India and abroad.

A major highlight of the Hyderabad Airport Cargo facility is the unique ‘Pharma Zone’, a large multi-ULD Cool Dolly, which makes it one of India’s largest centres for the handling of temperature- sensitive cargo up to -20 degree C. The terminal also offers one of India’s largest fleets of modern temp-controlled Cool Containers viz. Cool Dolly, Envirotainer, VaQtec to name a few.
