Hyderabad police apprehends six Interstate drug peddlers, seizes 164 kgs of Ganja

HYDERABAD: The sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone Team, apprehended six interstate drug peddlers on Sunday. They were found in possession of a large quantity of narcotics, specifically Ganja, totaling 164 kgs valued at Rs. 51 lakhs. The apprehension took place in the Humayan Nagar and Bhavani Nagar police station limits.

Based on credible information, three interstate drug peddlers were caught with 100 kgs of Ganja near Arabian Food Corner, Paramount Colony, Road No. 86, Hakeekpet, Tolichowki, Hyderabad. The accused were identified as Dharavath Ravi (40) from Kamareddy, Syed Bahadur (28), and Ananda Ramji Kadam (35), both from Nanded, Maharashtra. The police seized 100 kgs of Ganja, a Hyundai Accent Car, and four cell phones from their possession. A case was registered under Cr.No. 253/2024 at Humayun Nagar police station.

Dharavath Ravi, a native of Koranpally Thanda, Pitlam, Kamareddy District, had previously been arrested in an NDPS case in Maharashtra. Recently, he traveled to Muchumput, Odisha, where he purchased 32 packets of Ganja totaling 100 kgs from a Ganja cultivator named Govind.

Ravi, along with his associates Syed Bahadur and Ananda Ramji Kadam, loaded the Ganja into a Hyundai Accent car and headed towards Hyderabad. Acting on credible information, the Task Force apprehended the accused near Paramount Colony within the Humayan Nagar Police Station limits. The three accused individuals, along with the seized material, were handed over to the Humayan Nagar Police Station for further action.

The raid was conducted under the supervision of South West Zone Task Force Inspector S. Bala Swamy, Sub Inspector B. Ajeeth Singh, and their team.
