Hyderabad police apprehends two murder suspects in Nampally murder case

HYDERABAD: The sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad City Police, apprehended two accused persons who committed a murder within the jurisdiction of Nampally police station and had been absconding since the commission of the offence.

The accused persons were identified as Mohd Gaffar (32), working as a cook, and Mohd Jahid (25), working as a daily laborer, both residents of Hyderabad.

On the night of June 12, 2024, between 9:00 p.m. and 9:50 p.m., the accused persons, Mohd Gafoor and Mohd Jahid alias Javid, had a fight with the deceased on the road near Nampally railway station. The accused persons, under the influence of alcohol, were trying to steal money from the pavement dwellers, including the intoxicated deceased, who resisted them.

Both parties suffered injuries in the fight. After the scuffle, the accused, in a fit of rage over being injured by the deceased, returned to the scene and assaulted the deceased multiple times, including hitting him with a large stone, which resulted in his death later. Acting swiftly, Task Force teams apprehended both accused, and a case has been registered in Cr.No.214/2024 U/s.302 R/w. 34 IPC at Nampally police station.

Previously, accused Mohd Gafoor was involved in property and bodily offence cases within the jurisdiction of Nampally and Saifabad PSs. The second accused, Mohd Jahid alias Javid, was also involved in robbery and HB night cases previously within the jurisdiction of Nampally and Moinabad PSs.

The apprehension was carried out by Inspectors E. Jangaiah, West Zone, N. Ramakrishna, Central Zone, Commissioner’s Task Force, along with their team.
