Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand lays emphasis on mega city policing
He suggested that an anti-narcotics forum be established at HCSC to raise awareness about the consequences of drug addiction
HYDERABAD: The honorary chairman of the Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC), city police commissioner CV Anand, presided over the HCSC membership meeting on Wednesday in an effort to motivate the existing members and recruit new members through strategic connections and networking - a key motto to benefit the citizens through initiatives, awareness campaigns, and community development.
CV Anand asked all members to come up with fresh ideas and energy, and informed them about the state government's megacity policing strategy, which was begun to meet the needs of the state's rapidly growing population and economic growth.
“Telangana is the only state to sanction Telangana Narcotics Bureau(TNAB) and Cyber Security Bureau to address the menace of Drug abuse and Cyber Crime and also sanctioned 4,000 extra police personnel for better policing and revamping of the policing in the three commissionerates and how the state government had been according top priority to the paradigm of “Peace and Law and order brings about economic growth", said CV Anand.
He suggested that an anti-narcotics forum be established at HCSC to raise awareness about the consequences of drug addiction. He gave immediate clearance to establish a CSR forum to reach out to all corporates in order to improve the inflow of funding to streamline and enhance HCSC activities.
The HCSC team launched awareness videos on women's safety, cyber security, and road safety on this occasion.
Chaitanya, secretary general of the HCSC, addressed the members about many forums such as women, cyber, traffic, and physical security, as well as the activities of each of them, in his welcome address. AR Srinivas, Addl.CP(Crimes & SIT), who was serving as the council's convenor, informed the attendees about the council's good efforts during the epidemic years.
Seamless integration of forums with other govt agencies, aligning common objectives, necessity of a robust HCSC secretariat, organising webinars and hackthons within the scope of HCSC and other key issues were discussed during the meeting.
The attendees later had a tour of the TSPICCC complex, stopping at important locations including the disaster management centre, the museum, the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate, etc. The meeting was attended by Mujahid Alam, Bhaskar Reddy, Shrawan Kumar, Rajashekar Reddy, Khyati, Ramakrishna Rao, Satish Babu, Supriya, Geeta Goti, and other members.
