Hyderabad police nab three robbers, recover Rs. 24 lakh stolen jewellery in 16 hours

HYDERABAD: The Commissioner's task force, in collaboration with Chaderghat police, swiftly apprehended three robbers within 16 hours and recovered stolen property worth at Rs. 24,00,000 in Hyderabad on Friday.
The recovered items include gold ornaments weighing 330.84 grams, silver ornaments weighing 124.19 grams, three two-wheelers, two mobile phones, and two face masks. These were seized from the possession of three individuals identified as Nazim Aziz Kotadia (36), Shoukat Raini (19), and Waris (18) in Chaderghat.
The incident occurred on February 14, 2024, around 1:15 p.m., when Nazim Aziz Kotadia and Waris stormed into the Kiswah jewellery shop in Akbarbagh in Malakpet and injured the complainant's son Shajee Rahman with a knife. Subsequently, they absconded with gold and silver jewellery.
A case was registered under Section 394 R/W 34 IPC at Chaderghat Police Station, South East Zone. The investigative efforts involved a thorough examination of the crime scene by the Commissioner's task force, South East Force, in conjunction with the Chaderghat crime team. Analysis of CCTV footage and data from transmission towers led to the identification of the culprits, who had fled the scene using different vehicles.
It was discovered that the stolen jewellery had been concealed in Nazim Aziz Kotadia's residence. Further investigation revealed that Nazim Aziz Kotadia had meticulously planned the robbery, coordinating with his associates Shoukat Raini and Waris. Waris was asked to pose as a customer, while Shoukat was tasked with helping in the commission of the crime.
On February 15, 2024, the South-East team of the commissioner's task force successfully traced the vehicles used in the robbery and arrested three suspects.
The diligent efforts of various law enforcement officers, including DCP East Zone D. Janaki, DCP A Srinivas Rao, G. Manohar, G. Shyam Sunder, S. Saidababu, Y. Prakash Reddy SHO, G. Sanjeev Add, Sub-Inspector P. Sairam, and M. Anatha Chary, among others, played a pivotal role in swiftly resolving the case.
