What is HTAMF?

The Hyderabad Tyagaraja Aradhana Music Festival (HTAMF) holds a special place as a highly acclaimed and eagerly anticipated music fest dedicated to commemorating saint Tyagaraja, recognizing his musical legacy, and sharing it with today's audiences. This festival echoes the well-known annual event in Tiruvayyaru and resonates across various cities worldwide.

Hyderabad, known for its historical significance and cultural diversity, provides a fitting setting for HTAMF. This annual event serves as a stage where enthusiasts of Carnatic music can relish performances by both emerging and seasoned artists. Drawing attendees from the twin cities, across India, and globally, HTAMF brings together diverse art communities.

Established in 2016 by the Sanskriti Foundation, a 15-year-old nonprofit based in Hyderabad, the festival represents a shared passion for promoting Indian culture, arts, and traditions. Through initiatives like HTAMF, along with programs like Sabarmathi Sangeeth, Vrindavan, Art Attack, Sahana, Vidyashram, Cultural Retreat, and efforts in teaching and promoting South Indian Classical Music (Gurukulam), the foundation actively contributes to the cultural tapestry.

What does HTAMF do?

The festival spans five days and features seven events. It commences with an inaugural ceremony and presents enchanting concerts every evening from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, with a lineup of over 25 performances.

On the morning of the fourth day, the festival dedicates itself to student-teacher community concerts. This segment aims to offer promising students a platform to showcase their talent and perform.

The festival's main event, the Pancharatna Seva will take place on Sunday morning and includes two segments. The first segment is a Guru Sanmanam, where Sanskriti Foundation acknowledges the service and dedication of a distinguished musician to the field of Carnatic music.

The second event is the Pancharatna Seva, featuring the five ghana ragam gems of Tyagaraja. Over 500 artists from the twin cities actively participate, delivering a powerful rendition of Tyagaraja Sadhguru's music, blending vocal and instrumental performances. This vibrant gathering includes both in-person participants and virtual attendees from around the world.
