HYDERABAD: Heavy rain coupled with gusty winds lashed almost all parts of Hyderabad city starting from early hours on Monday. Rajendranagar received a massive 52.33 mm of rain, followed by Amberpet with 45.8 mm. Medchal Malkajgiri received the lowest of all with 20 mm of rainfall.

Ameerpet, Secunderabad, Shamshabad, Warasiguda, Buddha Nagar, Sitaphalmandi, Yousufguda, Jubilee Hills, Borabanda, Patancheru, Miyapur, Madhapur, Hitech City, Bala Nagar, Tarnaka, Ibrahimpatnam, Mushirabad, are the other areas in the city that received heavy rainfall causing sporadic disruption of power and waterlogged conditions.

While the tryst with mid-summer rains might be over for Hyderabad city with only a hazy sky providing partial respite, few districts in Telangana would continue to receive copious rainfall in the coming days.

” So as expected, rains have ended in Hyderabad and no more rains expected later in the day. Rains are now moving down towards Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy. Scattered heavy rains to continue for 2hrs. Dry weather in remaining areas”, Telangana Weatherman T Balaji observed.

Earlier the IMD warned the general public about sporadic rains for five days giving respite after an eight-day sweltering heat wave-like conditions.
