MUMBAI: South Africa is continuing to show its batting prowess in the World Cup 2023. The Proteas registered yet another massive victory by 149 runs, this time against Bangladesh. This triumph solidifies South Africa's position at the top of the run rate leader board, surpassing all other teams by a considerable margin.

Chasing a challenging target of 382 runs is never an easy task, and Bangladesh encountered significant difficulties in their chase. The top order of the Bangladesh team was dismantled by both Rabada (2/56) and Marco Jansen (2/39), resulting in a dramatic collapse as they lost six wickets for just 81 runs. Except for Mahmudullah's (111) valiant effort, the rest of the batters struggled, leading to Bangladesh being bowled out for 233 in 46.4 overs. Gerald Coetzee (3/62) scalped three wickets for South Africa.

On the flip side, the South African batters enjoyed a field day on the same pitch. Opener Quinton de Kock delivered a sensational century, amassing an impressive 174 runs, the highest score by a wicketkeeper in a World Cup match. Captain Aiden Markram (60) and Henrich Klassen (90) contributed with powerful innings, allowing South Africa to post a massive total of 382/5 in their 50 overs.

South Africa's next match is scheduled against Pakistan on October 27, while Bangladesh will face the Netherlands in their upcoming game on October 28.

Scorecard:

South Africa: 382/5 (50 overs)

Bangladesh: 233/10 (46.4 overs)
