HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'yellow' thunderstorm alert for the next three days and an 'orange alert' for May 12, 2024.

According to the IMD, heavy rain occurred at isolated places in Narayanpet district of Telangana on May 9, 2024. Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are expected at isolated places for the next three days.

Maximum temperatures are expected in the range of 39° to 42° while the minimum temperatures are in the range of 26° to 29° for the next three days across the State.

Maximum temperatures are expected in the range of 38° to 40°, while the minimum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 26° to 28° in the GHMC area for the next three days.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in Rajanna Sircilla, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Nagarkurnool districts of Telangana on May 9, 2024.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Kamareddy districts of Telangana on May 9, 2024.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur in parts of the city on May 9, 2024. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 37° and 24° respectively. Surface winds are likely to be Southerlies with wind speeds around 06-10 kmph gusting to 30-40 kmph on Thursday.

May 10 (Yellow): Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Komarambheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Janagaon districts of Telangana.

May 11 (Yellow): Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in Nizamabad, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Janagaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Sangareddy, Medak districts of Telangana.

May 13 (Orange): Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthi, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal districts of Telangana.
