HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for the next five days in Telangana on Saturday.

According to the IMD, thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places across Telangana in the next five days. Hyderabad city is expected to witness light to moderate thunderstorms with intense spells at one or two places, accompanied by gusty winds up to 40 kmph likely in the city during the next few hours on Saturday.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar, and Nagarkurnool districts of Telangana.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are expected at a few places up to May 19, 2024. Thereafter, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are expected at isolated places for the next two days. Maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 39°C to 42°C, while the minimum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 24°C to 27°C in the State.

Light rain/thundershowers are expected at isolated places for the next two days. Dry weather is expected for day three in Hyderabad. Maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 36°C to 38°C, while the minimum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 24°C to 26°C in Hyderabad.

The highest maximum temperature of 39.8°C was recorded at Adilabad Urban (Collectorate) (Adilabad). The State's daily maximum average temperature is 34.6°C, compared to the normal of 39.8°C. The highest maximum temperature of 35.9°C was recorded at Football Ground Vijayanagar Colony (Hyderabad). The GHMC's daily maximum average temperature is 33.5°C, compared to the normal of 38.6°C.

May 18 (Yellow): Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places across Telangana. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar, and Nagarkurnool districts of Telangana.

May 19: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places across Telangana. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Komarambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Nagarkurnool districts of Telangana.

May 20 (Yellow): Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places across Telangana. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad, and Nagarkurnool districts of Telangana.

May 21 (Yellow): Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places across Telangana. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Komarambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, and Suryapet districts of Telangana.

May 22 (Yellow): Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places across Telangana. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, and Narayanpet districts of Telangana.
