KCR joins Green India Challenge, plants sapling on World Environment Day
The Green India Challenge launched by MP J Santosh Kumar received a huge fillip from none other than Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on the occasion of World Environment Day
HYDERABAD: The Green India Challenge (GIC) launched by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar received a huge fillip from none other than Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in Hyderabad on the occasion of the World Environment Day on Monday. KCR himself joined the GIC movement and planted a sapling to mark the momentous day.
“The mentor himself was obliged to do the honours on the occasion of World Environment Day. Team Green India Challenge is overwhelmed by the kind gesture of the father of Haritha Haram, KCR,” an elated Santosh Kumar tweeted.
He said that, as the creator of the Green India Challenge, nothing could give him more happiness than the Chief Minister taking part in the challenge and planting a sapling.
The BRS MP started the movement in 2018 to create urban forests in a novel way. Each person who planted a sapling had to name three others creating an unbroken chain.
