Kotha Prabhakar Reddy to be in critical care unit for next 24-48 hours :Yashoda Hospitals

HYDERABAD: Yashoda Hospitals on Tuesday released a health bulletin of Medak MP and BRS Munugode candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, who was admitted with stab injuries and bowel perforation s/p surgery -Laparotomy.

According to this bulletin, post surgery Prabhakar Reddy was moved to the surgical critical care unit where he was being monitored by a multidisciplinary team of surgical gastroenterologists, intensivists and others. “Prabhakar Reddy is on broad spectrum antibiotics, IV fluids, pain medications and other supportive measures,” the doctors said.

The doctors also said that the MP was conscious, verbalising and recuperating from the major surgery. “Prabhakar Reddy still needs to be in the critical care unit for the next 24-48 hours, after which he will be shifted to a room. He will be on fluids as per the surgical team's advice except for sips of water till tomorrow, when reassessment will be done and gradual introduction of liquid to the oral diet will be made,” the doctors said, and added that the MP was hemodynamically stable with normal labs and no fever as on date, without any significant pain, other than at surgical site.
